Melinda Smith is the Lead Operations Manager for the Email
Marketing and Communications group at Expedia.com, one of the world's leading
online travel providers. Her role is to lead technical innovation in the email
channel, manage the implementation of Expedia's email marketing program, and
shape future requirements for infrastructure, quality control, and new program
opportunities.
Prior to joining Expedia in 2005, Melinda spent over six
years as a consultant and IT professional, specializing in helping companies
work through software quality assurance, database marketing, email operations,
content management, information architecture, and project management challenges.
Clients such as Microsoft, Adobe, and Xbox have relied on Melinda's unique
combination of business management, marketing, technical acumen, and information
systems knowledge, with expertise in dealing with the many and varied ways a web
